Youth activism ‘steps up ten gears’ at ITF summer school

10 Jul 2015

Who's here? 26 countries are represented by the 36 young activists participating in the activist training at the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers centre. They work across a range of transport sectors; civil aviation, dockers, seafarers, road and rail.

Why have they come? Simon from Unifor Canada explains.

What are they doing? They’ve been focusing on strategic campaigning, building regional and global networks and growing union activism and participation in the ITF.

The participants have been managing their own communications for the week, developing skills in using film, blogging and social media platforms to achieve campaign and organising goals. Their posts cover everything from globalisation to discrimination, changes in the transport industry to unregulated taxi. Head to the summer school blog.

So what will participants be taking away from the week? Noor from the Lebanese cabin crew union summed it up.
