Promoting Women at Sea webinar! 
 

To celebrate the launch of the International Transport Workers’ Federation’s (ITF) new website for women seafarers, a panel of women leaders from the maritime industry to discussed: 

What is it like to be a woman working at sea – what are the challenges and the opportunities? 

What needs to be done to end the gender discrimination women seafarers face? 

How can the maritime industry work better together to recruit and retain women on board ships? 

The webinar was chaired by ITF Maritime Coordinator Jacqueline Smith and featured a range of speakers from across the shipping industry.

The discussion explored the experiences of women working at sea, the challenges they face, and the opportunities available. Examining how the industry can collaborate to improve the recruitment and retention of women on board ships.
